Sustainability is both a concept and a goal. Sustainability speaks of balancing social, ecological and economic concerns without compromising future generations’ ability to meet their own needs. The goal of sustainability is one of the most challenging calls to action of our time. Education is one of the most effective ways that we can create the change necessary to reach that goal.
Our challenge as teachers is that we have to learn about sustainability alongside our students. We all have many questions about what sustainability looks like and how to get there from here. These questions need to be asked across the generations. Through living the questions alongside our students we can create agents of change.
Education for Sustainable Development (curriculum and delivery) has been an underlying theme and focal point across previous work that we have done. For more information, please contact Wild Nature.
